The Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy/Head of the Creative Economy Tourism Agency Sandiaga Uno has announced the 50 Best Tourism Villages for the 2022 Tourism Village Award (ADWI). The determination of the 50 Best Tourism Villages of ADWI 2022 was determined after going through a curation process from 500 tourist villages, then pursing to 300 tourist villages, up to 100 tourist villages, and narrowing down again to 50 tourist villages.
"Congratulations! We would like to thank the tourist villages that have successfully passed to become the 50 Best Tourism Villages. Come on, together we will create a world-class tourism village, globally competitive, for Indonesia to rise," said Minister Sandiaga through the website jadesta.kemenparekraf.go.id
.At the beginning of the implementation of ADWI 2022, there were 3,416 registered tourist villages from 34 provinces. Of these, there are 1,831 tourist villages that have participated in the Tourism Village Network (Jadesta). Furthermore, the ADWI 2022 stage enters the visitation and field assessment stage (field assessment). The visitation to the 50 Best Tourist Villages began at the end of May and is expected to be completed in September 2022. "I was accompanied by two judges to conduct an assessment and directly greet the people in 50 selected tourist villages from 34 provinces," Minister Sandi said in a Weekly Press Briefing broadcast, quoting Kompas.com.The first visitation was carried out on May 24 at Keris Tourism Village or Aeng Tong-tong Tourism Village located in Sumenep Regency, East Java. Furthermore, Minister Sandi will make a visit to the Riau Islands, then to East Java, Bali, and West Java.Registration for ADWI 2022 starts from February 19 to March 32, 2022. Participants are required to register on the Jadesta website that has been provided and fill out 7 aspects of assessment and supporting documents independently. Participants are given time to complete the documents until April 7, 2022. The ADWI 2022 assessment category is viewed from 7 aspects. First, the attraction of visitors, which is to see if the tourist village has the uniqueness and authenticity of varied and creative tourist products. Second, homestays, which look at improving service quality standards and preserving local cultural architectural designs. Third, digital and creative assessment, which includes accelerating the acceleration of digital transformation and creating creative content. Fourth, souvenirs, namely to explore the potential for creativity and community work based on local wisdom. Fifth, public toilets, namely assessing efforts to fulfill facilities and infrastructure for the convenience of tourists. Sixth, CHSE, which is to assess the application of CHSE facilities following national standards. Finally, seventh, village institutions, namely assessing the formation of legal entities and sustainable management. ADWI 2022 will collaborate with various strategic partners to develop the potential of tourism villages. Some of ADWI's strategic partners in 2022 such as BCA, ASTRA, and BMI.
